AB -
The relationship between the United States and China has represented one of the most consequential bilateral dynamics in the contemporary international system. This paper rather than framing this relationship through the lens of inevitable conflict, however, attempts to explore the constructive dimension(s) of US-China interactions. It has focused on their potential to foster global stability, innovation, and shared prosperity. The complex interdependence between these two nations would create unprecedented opportunities for mutual economic benefit, scientific collaboration, and joint leadership on transnational challenges. This research, therefore, attempts to examine how economic complementarity, diplomatic engagement, and people-to-people exchanges have built resilient foundations for cooperation. This paper by analyzing successful areas of collaboration in climate change, global health, and technological innovation, demonstrates that competitive elements in the relationship can coexist with and even reinforce cooperative dynamics. The findings have suggested that a forward-looking approach, particularly one focused on managing differences while expanding common ground, is required. As such this approach would offer the most promising pathway for both nations to contribute to global peace and development in the 21st century.
Keywords: US-China Relations, Global Cooperation, Economic Interdependence, Technological Innovation, Climate Collaboration, Shared Prosperity
